Hello

So, I began working full - time at the motel I've casually subbed at for the past 6 or so years. Enough amusing, odd, and awful stories have come up that I've decided to chronicle it here. Also, I get the weirdest tips. XD

There are 17 rooms, two of which connect and 5 that are doubles. Each has its own quirks. COVID has brought its challenges, but it also caused us to begin using ozone /UV machines to clean rooms. So at least most of the gross gems should be gone.

We just began a partnership with the VA and BMAC to provide rooms to vets trying to find housing. We currently have 5. One gal moved here and is looking for a home to buy (I hear she just closed on one, but we'll still have her for a bit), one guy moved here from Arkansas and was going to look for a house....but decided he likes us just fine for awhile. Another guy is repairing flood damage. He said he'd be with us till April, then changed his mind to "a few months". We'll see. Then we have our contract workers: three construction workers that go home for the weekends, one natural gas guy here for the long haul, and a nurse that stays two or three days and goes home in between.

That leaves 4 rooms for other travelers, one of which we mostly use as a staff break room (the other connecting room). Not too shabby for the middle of a pandemic!
